BIENVENIDOS – DAY 1
Day 1 Arrival means Equipo greets you at Jose Maria Cordova International Airport in Medellin to travel for a welcome dinner, relaxing hotel accommodations and bike preparation.

FIRST GLIMPSES – Day 2
Day 2 Stage One moves from a hearty Colombian breakfast to a bike route encircling Medellin as mountain air fuels lungs and legs warm to the increased elevation. We head out in SAG vehicles for 40 minutes to leave the city limits and turn towards the Paciﬁc coast. We start our ride in Copacabana to Pradera and loop around to pause in Barbosa for a refreshing ensalada de frutas or tropical fruit salad. We continue to the majestic, lush green Andes in the southeastern part of Medellin to stop for a light lunch of pasteles de pollo, ﬁnger food of wholesome chicken pastries, before returning to the hotel’s welcoming embrace. Spend the afternoon exploring Medellin on your own.

ADVENTURE AHEAD – Day 3
Day 3 Stage Two moves through rollers to a climb headed toward a famous nature preserve to provide enough challenge and even more sensory rewards. We head out in SAG vehicles for a short drive to the base of Parque Arvi and climb from Medellin to the summit of Santa Helena to regroup at the top and take in the sweeping landscape views of the Abrurra Valley. We fuel up on a light lunch of tamale or Colombian sausage and arepas at El Tombo and continue on to Piedra Blanca and more rollers to loop in Marinilla, Warne, Rionegro, Llanogrande and ﬁnish by the airport. We head down in SAG vehicles for a 45-minute drive to the hotel for a siesta. Explore the city or we will transport you to Mercado del Rio for dinner to explore a variety of Colombian eclectic food, drinks and bustling marketplace.

RICH REWARDS – Day 4
Day 4 Stage Three takes you to the Piggy Loop, as the Colombians named this route full of twists, turns, climbs and descents as the full expression of Antioquia’s richness is experienced while savoring more local ﬂavors throughout the day and evening. Ride in SAG vehicles for 30 minutes to start the ride as we are pedaling forward for the best almajabanas and pan de yucas (delicious baked Colombian treats) enroute. We start with a 10-mile climb past dairy farms, heading to San Pedro for 20 miles of rollers towards the Belmira River where we pause for a typical Colombian lunch (chicken, rice, red beans, plantains) and then pedal back to Alto de San Felix to stop for the beautiful landscape views of Medellin.

WORTHY WORK- Day 5
Stage 4 takes us to the popular climb Alto de las Palmas. We regroup at the top to descend towards La Ceja and a quick stop at La Tienda del Pedro for Colombian treats of pan de yucca and tinto. With a brief rest, we head down to Medellin for an afternoon to explore the city or book a massage. Dinner is on your own this evening.

PEDAL PROVEN- Day 6
On the final stage 5, we ride to Llanogrande towards San Antonio, climbing La Union, an 8 km climb with beautiful landscapes. We continue towards Carisales and returning back to Alto de Las Palmas in a loop where we stop for lunch for authentic ‘bandeja paisa’ typical Colombian lunch platter served with egg, meats, avocado rice and plantain. Dinner this evening is at Cafe Zorba – a local favorite Italian cafe.

ADIOS – Day 7
Day 7 returns you to Jose Maria Cordoba International Airport after breakfast and time with fellow riders.
